Using the Power of Facebook To Get Traffic

As an Internet Marketer, you should always look at different ways to get more traffic to your sites without spending a fortune on PPC. I am currently exploring using social networking site Facebook to get more traffic to my websites.

A key benefit of using a social networking site like FaceBook is that I can actually import all my posts from this blog into my profile.

I use Blog RSS Feed Reader to show my posts on FaceBook

Cool Blog Traffic Widget

John Reese, the Internet marketing expert recently launched BlogRush, a cool blog traffic widget that will enable you to promote your blog posts on related blogs over the internet

BlogRush launched last week on September 15th 2007, and believe me if you are a blogger you’ll want to sign up right away and add the widget code to your blog ASAP. You can do that in a matter of minutes.

It is free to register your blog/blogs in the BlogRush network and add the widget, and I believe the key to getting tons of free traffic from this concept is to get yourself set up to the network now.

BlogRush in a nutshell is a viral blog marketing tool in the form of a small widget in your sidebar that displays relevant blog posts.

Its easy to set up, with a short piece of copy & paste code. I have set up mine and its on my side left bar.

Basically, your earn “points” each time the widget is viewed on your blog, and this helps towards getting your blog posts displayed on other relevant blogs in the blogosphere. You also gain referrals when people sign up to BlogRush through your widget.

The BlogRush widget also enables your visitors to stay at your blog by opening a new window anytime they click on a link in your widget. This means you don’t lose your visitors.

John Reese has put together a detailed video at the BlogRush site to give you an idea of how the BlogRush concept works.

I have started testing this cool blog traffic widget on my blogs including this one and I will be happy to report back in a future post how what sort of traffic I get from the BlogRush network.

If you do decide to test this out then you can do so at my personal referral link: http://www.blogrush.com/r58035082 . You will be glad you did early enough. I must stress that there is no money involved - just clicks, referrals and traffic for everyone!

Yahoo! Answers can boost your reputation and website traffic

Yahoo! Answers provides a good platform where you can get a question answered on just about anything. And as I discovered lately, it is also a good place to go to build up a great reputation for answering questions on various subjects. I am working actively in a specific niche and I have been answering a lot of questions that users have been asking. Then I basically put a link back to my site once I have answered a question and sometimes I even provide a link if I have covered the question on my own site. So I am able to drive targeted traffic to my own sites through Yahoo!Answers.

Yahoo! Answers also gives you points depending on the number of questions you have answered and after you have acquired a certain number of points you move up a level and eventually become a Top contributor. You get a point for logging into your Yahoo! Answers account each time, 2points for answering a question, 10points if you have the best answer chosen.

I aim to be a Top contributor for my specific niche in due time.

Thanks to Yahoo for providing a great service!

How To Monetize WebSite Traffic

My online friend Lynn Terry over at ClickNewz recently asked her readers ‘What is your biggest question about getting traffic to your website?’. Interestingly, she got a very good response with users asking very interesting questions regarding getting traffic to your website. I assume this is a very popular topic amongst website owners so I asked her specifically ‘What it the best way if there is any to monetize the traffic that you get to your sites?.

Her answer to the question is very detailed and you can find it here. However, to summarize what she said, you can monetize your traffic using selling your own products, promoting affiliate programs or using contextual advertising, etc. depending on the site. But in order to answer how you should monetize a specific site then you should ask yourself, ‘What is the purpose of the site you are trying to monetize?’.

And you shouldn’t be thinking about just selling a product or making money. In fact you need to put yourself in your visitors shoes and try and figure out what they are looking for.

Lynn has provided a detailed and informative post on how monetize your website traffic. She added a case study to explain how she looked at the keyword ‘Content Composer’ that a visitor had searched on, and provided different suggestions on how she could have monetized traffic coming from that keyword being searched for on the search engines.

Communities are like topics of interest so you can easily find a community based on your hobbies, interests etc. Also, you can add contacts, friends and associates to you individual blogs or communities. You can also network with people within the communities you join or outside the community via email.

Traffic from Mybloglog is slowing filtering to this site and I really enjoy being a member. Interestingly, you can track who reads your blogs by adding a widget like I have on the right side under “My Community”.
