During the Concept To Cash Product Workshop session 3, Willie Crawford talked about undertaking keyword research and getting ideas for products that we are looking to sell. He gave us a few tips on how to use different techniques to find out what potential customers are looking.
The techniques included finding out what your immediate competition websites look like, what products or services they are selling, what they are selling these products and how long they have been in business.
Also, we looked at positioning ourselves infront of Ebay, Myspace because they have millions of registered users who have various interests.
Other ways to undertake keyword research are using the search engines, writing articles, press releases, blogs etc. Potential customers are always searching for different things using various platforms.
Interestingly another way of finding out if a product we are looking to develop will sell is to sell similar product as an affiliate. We were told to look at Private Label products, Master Resell Right products, clickbank products etc.
Finally, Wille Crawford gave us a useful tip about locating customers and how best to approach them. The first tip is to use
One Step Marketing - Get them to buy from you on first contact. This requires credibility and recommendations.
Two Step Marketing - Get them to opt into a list and follow up with them.
