I’ve had an interesting time reviewing my visitor stats for the past few months. My OnlineGist blog is surely getting a lot of exposure and my unique visitors are increasing month by month. I have noticed more than double the number of unique visitors since January when I started analysing my stats. I recommend any blogger/webmaster to put in place a stats counter in order to be able to track your visitors activities on your sites.

My personal recommendation is Awstats, free powerful and featureful tool that generates advanced web, streaming, ftp or mail server statistics, graphically.

I use Awstats to track my visitors search patterns on my site. For instance, I know which keywords + keyword phrases are searched on frequently. I also know what average time my unique visitors spend on my site.

The stats I have collected will enable me to make the blog more sticky since I have noticed that most visitors to my site spend an average of 0-30 secs. My unique visitors have also increased monthly since January. I had 528,827,1438 unique visitors in Jan, Feb and March respectively. My goal this month is increase my unique visitors even more by providing more quality content.
