I listened in on Jason James (Membership Riches) interview by Internet Marketing Unwrapped Host Heather Vale last night. He covered his topic ‘Membership Site Riches’ in much detail and gave some useful tips on how to get started.

I summarize some of his tips as follows :-

1) He started out selling goods on ebay and did very well with it. He then decided to start the Auction Resource Network which he got 1300 affiliates to promote.

2) Membership sites are a good source of passive/recurring income if you get it right and keep the content fresh.

3) Successful Membership sites have a personality of their own that members can identify or associate with. They also are content rich and cover a specific topic.

4) You can get started by find a topic that you are passionate about, investigate something people are looking for and then provide them a solution.

5) There are different ways to get your content for your membership site. i.e interview an expert to create content, write articles, use ghost writers and private laber right articles.

6) Look at your competitors in your chosen niche as see how they have set up their membership site.

7) You can stand out from the competion by offering more than your competitors or being a better marketer.

Use different ways to market you membership site (i.e Joint Ventures, Pay Per Click).
