5 Blogging Techniques That Work

Matt Coddington over at Netbusinessblog as just posted a topic 5 Blogging Techniques That Work. What I like about these techniques is that they are very simple and easy to implement.

I Blog, Therefore I Am

Here are the 5 techniques:-

1) Adopt Lists as a way to break down your post.
This is because your readers tend to scheme through blogging posts and might not have enough time to hang around your blog. A list will get straight to the point and keep your users engaged for much longer.

Relate someone/group’s experience to a topic you are about to blog about.
Fellow blogger Kumiko provides a great example on her blog with her blog post titled ‘6 Lessons Britney Spears can teach you about blogging’.

Use other blogger’s content to create your own unique content.
Like me you probably wake up somedays and wonder what the hell you are going to blog about. By looking up fellow bloggers you will be suprised at the amount of topics you can relate to and possibly add your own twist. Today, I looked at what Matt wrote about and just presented the information differently and added value to the post. However, I do make sure I link back to the bloggers I reference in this way.I also tend to have watchlists at Technorati to see what is hot topic in my niche.

Adopt a personal blogging style.
As a blogger, you have to be unique in you own blogging right and don’t try to be anyone else if you want to have a long blogging life. Funnily Kumiko did mention in her post that you should be ‘Bold, Different and Unique’. There are many bloggers in blogosphere so you definitely should stand out of the crowd.

Interlink all your blogging posts.
Lastly, I am just beginning to see the effectiveness of interlinking all your posts. You can link to previous related posts, articles so that your readers can stay engaged to what you have to say and also reference your old posts in your archive.

Most of these techniques are not rock science and implementing them would sure give your blog a new outlook in blogosphere.

Cheers!

FlyCatcher Page Promotion

Following from my previous post that discussed Concept To Cash Product Workshop - Session5, I created a FlyCatcher Page for the PSP gaming console that I was looking to create an information product for. I really just want to find out what PSP owners and enthusiasts biggest problems are with the PSP entertainment machine.

PSPAskMe

I’ve started the promoting the Flycatcher page using different techniques discussed at the workshop. I plan to let my flycatcher promotion campaign run for a few weeks to see what sort of questions potential customers might ask me.

Concept To Cash Product Workshop - Session5

During the Concept To Cash Product Workshop - Session 5, Willie Crawford discussed techniques for creating that first ebook/product and doing some initial probing. He emphasised that it is vital for the market to tell you want it wants as well as prove to you what it wants on a product.

Our first ebook/product will give us a feel for our market. Whether our overall project will be successful or not should be clear after the ebook/product is launched. Also, we could use our introductory ebook to build a list of prospective customers.

The initial probing should also give an indication of what customers what to know and are willing to spend money on.

He recommended using the Flycatcher Method(Popularized by Frank Kern). A Flycatcher Page is a simple question survey form that just sends info to you. The question would ask what their biggest question/concern about a topic. This method helps build a list of people interested in a specific topic and each question or concern should be a chapter in the proposed ebook.

Finally he mentioned that we should generate traffic to the flycatcher page using pay-per-click, articles and discussion board posts.

Cheers!

Building Profitable Niche Minisites

Following up from my article titled “What is Niche Marketing?”, I’ve been reading Matt Coddington’s posts titled ‘Building A Niche Minisite” on his blog NetBusinessBlog.

Matt did a very interesting post divided into two parts. In part 1 where he explains how to go about find a niche, doing keyword research to find out if the niche is viable, analysing the keyword research data compiled, deciding on monetizing techniques. In part 2 of his post, he talks about designing a simple website for your niche, generating content and seo, setting up ads, setting up hosting and DNS and lastly link building.

He adds a case study of a niche based on Nintendo Wii popular game called Redsteel. Another bonus section provides answers to any questions that readers might have on his two part post.

I must point out that Matt’s post is the sort of information you had probably get in an ebook that would retail for $47 so to get it for free on a blog post is fantastic. Also, Matt’s posts should benefit to both beginner and experienced online marketers.
