I am currently doing some keyword research on a niche I am interested in using Wordtracker, one of my home based internet marketing business tools. I subscribed to the trial version of the tool to check out what Wordtracker is all about.

Wordtracker is a cool tool because it helps to develop a list of likely keyword phrases based on other website’s keywords tags and then searches a thesauraus, to help create an initial list of keyword phrases.

Based on the keyword phrases Wordtracker comes up with, it shows what people using the search engines are actually typing into their search box.

The trial version of Wordtracker limits you to just one search engine MSN so you don’t get the whole picture of what’s going on in other top search engines such as Google and Yahoo. So I have decided to go for the full works.

Wordtracker has a number of figures to help you analyze if your keyword phrases are any good or not which I will discuss in more detail in Part2 of my review.

I just discovered this amazing new tool below that creates amazing high-quality header graphics in just seconds. During the Concept To Cash Product Workshop session 3, Willie Crawford talked about undertaking keyword research and getting ideas for products that we are looking to sell. He gave us a few tips on how to use different techniques to find out what potential customers are looking.

The techniques included finding out what your immediate competition websites look like, what products or services they are selling, what they are selling these products and how long they have been in business.

Also, we looked at positioning ourselves infront of Ebay, Myspace because they have millions of registered users who have various interests.

Other ways to undertake keyword research are using the search engines, writing articles, press releases, blogs etc. Potential customers are always searching for different things using various platforms.

Interestingly another way of finding out if a product we are looking to develop will sell is to sell similar product as an affiliate. We were told to look at Private Label products, Master Resell Right products, clickbank products etc.

Finally, Wille Crawford gave us a useful tip about locating customers and how best to approach them. The first tip is to use
One Step Marketing - Get them to buy from you on first contact. This requires credibility and recommendations.
Two Step Marketing - Get them to opt into a list and follow up with them.

I like to apologise to all my readers because OnlineGist.com was offline for a few hours. My hosting company decided to move their datacentres and never informed me about this. I logged on only to find out that all my websites where down. Anyway it is back up now. Its times like this that you find out how much your online business depends on your hosting company.

I listened in on Jason James (Membership Riches) interview by Internet Marketing Unwrapped Host Heather Vale last night. He covered his topic ‘Membership Site Riches’ in much detail and gave some useful tips on how to get started.

I summarize some of his tips as follows :-

1) He started out selling goods on ebay and did very well with it. He then decided to start the Auction Resource Network which he got 1300 affiliates to promote.

2) Membership sites are a good source of passive/recurring income if you get it right and keep the content fresh.

3) Successful Membership sites have a personality of their own that members can identify or associate with. They also are content rich and cover a specific topic.

4) You can get started by find a topic that you are passionate about, investigate something people are looking for and then provide them a solution.

5) There are different ways to get your content for your membership site. i.e interview an expert to create content, write articles, use ghost writers and private laber right articles.

6) Look at your competitors in your chosen niche as see how they have set up their membership site.

7) You can stand out from the competion by offering more than your competitors or being a better marketer.

Use different ways to market you membership site (i.e Joint Ventures, Pay Per Click).

I am currently experimenting with Talkr which enables me to convert text only blogs into Podcasts. You can now listen to the podcast of each of my posts. However the voice on my audio post are not mine but that of a lady supplied by Talkr.

Podcasting has really taken off recently and basically it is a way to tell your personal computer to automatically download audio files onto your mp3 player.

Talkr provides a service that allows you to listen to your favorite text-only news sources rather than read them. I basically point Talkr to my RSS feed (a machine-readable version of my blog post and they convert that feed from text to speech.

You can also promote you feeds via Talkr by

1)Adding a chicklet to your blog.
2)Adding an audio link for each entry to your blog.
3)Optimizing your Podcast (for iTunes and other directories).

I have implemented the first two methods and working on optimizing my podcasts.
